Introduction to Filmmaking

Young participants will be introduced to Film Theory and the fundamentals of filmmaking. The story themes emerge from the participants themselves. Then, working within a small group (3-6 students) and with the help of the talented and experienced GCG staff, our young filmmakers will write, prep, shoot and edit a short film. All films will then be screened at a premier party experience for family, friends and community members.

Television Making Program

Students will learn the structure and style of episodic storytelling. Working as a writer’s room, students will learn from professional writers, working together to create an original TV Pilot concept and script. The students will go through a complete pre-production process to ready for their shoot, followed by on-location film production all led by industry professionals. The final part of the class will be focused on editing, color correction and sound sweeting, with each student overseeing a significant portion of the Pilot. The completed TV Pilot will screen for family, friends, and community members in Los Angeles.
